WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?      
1. Any YHAI member can participate on first come first serve basis.
2. A family consists of husband, wife and two children up to the age of 12 years. Copy of Birth certificate for the children between ages 10 to 12 years must be attached with application forms or must be submitted at the time of reporting at the Base Camp. Photographs of the Family Head must be attached on the forms.
3. A single person does not constitute a family and shall not be registered for the camp. Parent of very small children should arrange for their bottle feed.
4. Photo ID Proof of the head of the family should be attached with the application form, to be produced at the time of reporting at the base camp.
BREIF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM: Youth Hostels Association of India is organizing the National Family Camping in Manali. The request comes from the  members to organize alternative Family Camping Program in Himalaya. So we decided to organize this program in very famous hill station  Manali  in Kullu Valley of Himachal Pradesh. Manali is most picturesque valley, is also known as the Queen of Hill station, located on the bank of river Beas river. Kullu valley is known as Valley of God.
HOW TO REACH THE BASE CAMP:  By Bus:- Manali is about 560 kms from Delhi, 280 kms from Shimla & 350 kms from Chandigarh. HRTC/Himachal Tourism operates Volvo buses for Manali.
By Train:- Nearest railway station  are Ambala(300 kms) and Chandigarh(310 kms).
HOW TO JOIN:  Members desirous of joining this programme may apply on the prescribed registration form duly supported by a Medical Certificate, along with a DD of requisite amount in favour of “ Youth Hostels Association of India” payable at New Delhi.  Online booking is available on our website. (www.yhaindia.org). Members can also apply through our YHAI Units or State Branch in their respective area.
N.B: Without admit card and Medical fitness Certificate do not claim your registration as confirmed.
ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES:  Accommodation will be provided in International Youth Hostel Manali.
FOOD & WATER SUPPLIES:  Simple , nutritious vegetarian meals will be provided.
SAFETY & SECURITY
YHAI Group Insurance cover is for accidental death or permanent disability only. You are advised to take personal insurance cover for your journey and other related matters. Extensive and painstaking preparations have gone into the planning of this program for your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have been visiting the area to check all details. While every care has been taken to ensure safety, the Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseen eventualities.

Online Booking: Members desirous of joining this programme may apply online by paying requesite program fee along with online booking amount ie Rs.4515/- ( Rs.4200/- Program Fee/Family + Rs.315/- Online Booking Amount) per Family including Husband, Wife and 2 Children upto age of 12 years.
We accept Net Banking, Debit Card and Credit Card payment on www.yhaindia.org for online payments.
After sucessful transaction Admit Card will be generated. Participant has to carry "Admit Card", "Trekking Medical Certificate" & "Membership Card"(Print out of temporary membership card may also be accepted) at the time of reporting to the Base Camp.
Offline Booking: Members desirous of joining this programme may also apply on the prescribed "Trekking Registration Form" duly supported by a "Trekking Medical Certificate", along with a DD of requisite amount of Rs.4200/-(per Family including Husband, Wife and 2 Children upto age of 12 years.) in favour of “ Youth Hostels Association of India” payable at New Delhi.
ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES: One tent shall be given to each family. Mattresses, pillow and blankets shall be provided. Family should bring their own bed sheets. A well constructed pucca toilet-cum bathrooms block is available at the base camp.
FOOD & WATER SUPPLIES: Morning tea, breakfast, packed lunch, evening tea (in the camp), and dinner and after dinner tea/coffee/Bournvita, shall be provided. Nutritious, vegetarian and good quality food shall be served at the camp. Please bring your own plates, mugs, spoons etc. Natural mineral spring water has been brought to the base camp from a nearby source. Washing of clothes is strictly prohibited.
WHAT PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING ALONG: Woolens, cotton clothes, walking shoes, raincoat, cold cream/Vaseline, personal first aid kit, towel, bed sheets, lunch box (for packed lunch) and medicines that you normally use at home.

4. Burning of wood during camp fire is strictly prohibited. Import of any bio Non- degradable Material in Himachal Pradesh is an offence.

From the last 42 years Youth Hostels Association of India is organizing National Himalayan Trekking Expeditions in the heart of Himalayas.With all the effort and courage bringing together, with the joy of exploring Mother Nature, we are organizing National Mountain Biking Expedition, yet again, to give you memories for life (from Banala (Post Aut) to Jalori Pass and back to Kullu Valley of Himachal Pradesh).

PURPOSE: The purpose of the program is to expose YHAI members to a greater adventure and to rough the rigors of plodding with a sense of love for nature and outdoor recreational activity aiming at promoting advent are in tandem with national integration.

REPORTING DATES: There will be 20 participants in each reporting date on 24th April, 26th April, 28th April, 30th April, 2nd May, 4th May, 6th May, 8thMay, 10thMay, 12thMay, 14thMay, 16thMay, 18th May, 20th May, 22nd May, 24thMay,  26thMay, 28thMay, 30thMay, 1stJune, 3rdJune 2014, 5thJune 2014.
Schedule 
Day 1: Reporting at base camp Youth Hostel Banala (Post Aut) (3500ft)
Day 2: Acclimatization and Orientation
Day 3: Biking to Youth Hostel , Banjar – 22km – (4000ft)
Day 4: Biking to Youth Hostel Jibhi – 10km – (6000ft)
Day 5: Biking to Youth Hostel Soja – 07kms – (10000ft)
Day 6: Nature Trail at Jalori Pass, Biking Back to Youth Hostel Banjar – 17 km
Day 7: Biking to Youth Hostel Banala (Post Aut) – 22kms (3500ft)
Day 8: Group Breaks after Breakfast.

HOW TO REACH THE BASE CAMP: For National Himalayan Mountain Biking, our base camp is at Banala (Post Aut) (Landmark- Cafe Adventure), which is on the Kullu-Manali Highway. It is 28km short from Kullu. Direct bus services are available from ISBT Delhi, Chandigarh and other parts of Punjab, nearest railheads are Ambala and Chandigarh.

This route is of scenic beauty and cultural diversity. It has vast tracts of meadows and pastures lying across beautiful mountains. Chanderkhani, located at a height of 12,190 ft. provides an awesome and breathtaking view of some of the most beautiful snow clad mountain peaks like Tiger Thatch, Ali Ratni, Inderasan and Priyadarshini Range.
Chanderkhani, one of the most popular trekking routes in the Shivalik Range. The trek  route passes through dense forest with a variety of botanical species of thich and colourful foliage emanating enchanting fragrance, compelling passerby to view and appreciate the raw natural beauty. You may also meet simple Himachali folks who are proud of their land, culture and heritage. Malana is the only one village where residents still retains its 2000 years old traditions of a “Village Republic”. They have a distinct way of life, social customs, judicial system and ethics.

PURPOSE: The purpose of the expedition is to expose the YHAI members to a greater adventure and to rough the rigours of plodding with a sense of love for nature and outdoor recreational activity aiming at promoting adventure in tandem with national.
DURATION OF THE PROGRAM: 10 Days / 9 Nights
REPORTING DATES: There will be 50 participants in each group on each reporting dates between 26th April to 31stMay’2014
PROGRAM ITINEARY
Day 1: Reporting at base camp.
Day 2: Briefing and acclimatization.
Day 3: Rock climbing and rappelling 
Day 4: Base camp to Malana Project by bus, then trek to Yosgo, Distance - 5 km(approx) (9000 ft) (4 hrs)
Day 5: Trek from Yosgo camp to Behali campsite via Malana village, Distance - 8 km (approx)(8900 ft) (3 hrs)
Day 6: Trek from Behali campsite to Waching, Distance - 7 km (approx) (9300 ft) (3 hrs)
Day 7: Trek from Waching to Nagroni, Distance - 5 km (approx) (10,000 ft) (5 hrs)
Day 8:  Trek from Nagroni to Nauya Tapru via Chandrakhani pass, Distance - 14 km (approx) (9000 ft) (7 hrs)
Day 9:  Nauya Tapru to Naggar via Rumsu Village and transfer to Base Camp by Bus, Distance – 7 km (approx) (4 hrs)
Day 10: Check out after breakfast

Chanderkhani, આ શિવાલિક શ્રેણીમાં સૌથી લોકપ્રિય ટ્રેકિંગ વધુ છે. આ ટ્રેક માર્ગ કાચા કુદરતી સૌંદર્ય જોવા અને પ્રશંસા મોહક સુગંધ, આકર્ષક passerby નીકળતી થીચ અને રંગબેરંગી પર્ણસમૂહ બોટનિકલ જાતમાં સાથે ગાઢ જંગલ પસાર થાય છે. તમે પણ તેમની જમીન, સંસ્કૃતિ અને વારસો ગર્વ છે જે સરળ હિમાચલી લોકો સંતોષી શકે છે. Malana રહેવાસીઓ હજુ પણ "ગામ રિપબ્લિક" ના તેના 2000 વર્ષ જૂની પરંપરા જાળવી રાખે છે કે જ્યાં માત્ર એક જ ગામ છે. તેઓ જીવન, સામાજિક રિવાજો, ન્યાયિક સિસ્ટમ અને નીતિશાસ્ત્ર એક અલગ રીતે છે.
