*BREIF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM:  The biking trail travels from the Arabian Sea coast to Netravali village in the magnificent Sahyadri Western Ghats, which are recognized as the top 10 biodiversity spots of the world. The journey moves across the forests and the ecologically devastated mining belt in Sanguem. The voyage winds its way from the Bondla wildlife sanctuary to the calm and peaceful banks along the River Mandovi. It also visits the UNESCO World Heritage site of Old Goa.Thus the trail encompasses the entire range of all what Goa has to offer historically and naturally. From the coastline to the midlands to the mountain ranges is a huge experience of a varied land, a rich heritage and an interesting diversity of people who are proud of their land, culture and tradition.

* Day Wise schedule:

# Day 1: Report at Base Camp Sports Authority Ground,Campal, Panaji.

# Day 2: Training/Acclimatization, Orientation, Joy Ride in the City

# Day 3: Biking from Mormugao Harbour to Assolna  Camp [40 KM]

# Day 4: Biking from Assolna Camp to Netravali Camp [41 Kms]

# Day 5: Biking from Netravali Camp to Kollem Camp [48 Kms]

# Day 6: Biking from Kollem Camp to Khandepar Camp [25 Kms]

# Day 7: Biking from Khandepar to Base Camp [45 kms], Certificate Distribution and Recreation Activity

# Day 8: Check out after Breakfast

*HOW TO REACH THE BASE CAMP: The base camp is located at Sports Authority Ground, Near Miramar Beach, Panaji Goa. The nearest railway stations are Thivim (25Kms), Karmali (12 km) and Margao (33km.). State bus service is available. Direct bus service is also available from Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore & Mangalore. Direct trains are available from Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and major cities of India.
HOW TO JOIN: Members desirous of joining the programme may apply on a prescribed Registration Form duly supported by a Medical Certificate, which is attached with the form. Photocopies of the forms are acceptable. The minimum age for participation is 12. Form should be sent along with draft of participation fee. Member may also register through online booking
 *WHO CAN PARTICIPATE:   ONLY THOSE MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION WHO ARE EXPERIENCED IN RIDING GEARED BIKES, WITH PROPER SHIFTING OF GEARS, FOR MINIMUM 10 KM NON STOP, CAN JOIN THIS EXPEDITION. THEY MUST ALSO PASS AN ELIGIBILITY TEST WHICH WILL BE TAKEN ON THE DAY OF REPORTING NEAR BASE CAMP. THE ORGANISORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REJECT / DISQUALIFY MEMBERS WHO FAIL THIS TEST DESPITE REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT OF FEES. However, disqualified members shall be allowed to join the trekking expedition on the same day. Such members shall NOT be refunded the difference in fees of biking and trekking.  THEREFORE, MEMBERS SHOULD KINDLY ENSURE THAT THEY QUALIFY FOR THE ABOVE CONDITION BEFORE JOINING THE BIKING EXPEDITION.

*CANCELLATION RULES:  In case you are unable to join the trek after paying the participation fee, you will get a refund of 50%- provided your request is received directly in the office of Goa State Branch (not by email/SMS/Whatsapp) before 25th November 2018. No refund will however, be admissible if such notice is received after 25th November, 2018.

ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES: Tented accommodation

*FOOD & WATER SUPPLIES: Morning tea, breakfast, lunch / packed lunch, evening tea and Dinner shall be provided. Simple vegetarian, good quality nutritious food shall be served at the camp. Please bring your own plates, mugs, spoons, tiffin box for pack lunch etc.


*WHAT PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING ALONG: Rucksack (if you have one) cotton shirts, cotton pants, sun cap, Sports shoes, 2 pairs of cotton socks, torch, water bottle, lunch box, steel mug, plate, spoon, pen-knife, needle, thread, goggles,   soap, toilet paper, towel, medicines (which you normally use at home).

*SAFETY & SECURITY: Extensive and painstaking preparation has gone into the planning of trek routes for your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have been visiting the area to check all details. The Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accidents, illness and any such unforeseen eventualities. Deviation from the set route of the program is not permitted. If the participant desires to join any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk only after finishing the trek and checking out. YHAI group insurance cover is for accidental death or permanent disability only. You are advised to take insurance cover for your journey and other related matters.

* About Program:
Youth Hostels Association of India has been organizing various adventure programs for the last 46 years. People from the poles apart cultures and regions participate in our programs and enjoy our economical and budgeted trekking adventures. A large number of volunteers work with dedication, and support us for running these programs.
As a part of the Silver Jubilee Celebration of YHAI National Trekking, in 1995 we introduced the Family camping Program for the families of our volunteer camp leaders and other functionaries. Encouraged by the success of this adventure and, on the request of our members we repeated this program in many years till 2013. This year again, we are organizing the Family Adventure Camping Program in Leh, J&K.

 Vegetarian meals, Accommodation with attached toilet & bathroom will be given to each family.
(Participants will have to pay for transportation while visiting all Sightseeing places (Rs.2500-3500 /-Approx.)Per Person including inner Line permit.)
* Day wise Schedule
# Day 01: Reporting (Before 4.30 PM), Acclimatization and orientation Walk
# Day 02: Visit to Srinagar Route ( Sangam,Magnetic Hill,Pathar Sahib Gurudwara,Spituk Moneastry,Hall of Fame, & Shanthi Stuba,Leh Palace,Leh Market)
# Day 03: Visit to Pangong  lake, Changla Pass
# Day 04: Visit to Manali Route,Shey Palace,Thiksey Monastery, Shinduguard,Hemis,3 idiots School.
# Day 05: Visit to Nubra Valley,Khardungla Pass
# Day 06: Recreation Activities & Checkout after breakfast

* Who can Participate:
1. Any YHAI member can participate on first come first serve basis.
2. A family consists of husband, wife and two children up to the age of 12 years. Copy of Birth certificate for the children between ages 10 to 12 years must be attached with application forms or must be submitted at the time of reporting at the Base Camp. Photographs of the Family Head must be attached on the forms.
3. A single person does not constitute a family and shall not be registered for the camp. Parent of very small children should arrange for their bottle feed.
4. Photo ID Proof of the head of the family should be attached with the application form, to be produced at the time of reporting at the base camp.
5. For children above (12-18 years of age, Rs.1000/,18 and above Rs.2000/- per person will be charged. Extra person we will not allow apart from family.( Husband, wife and two children up to the age of 12 years  only)
6. Husband & Wife's membership is mandatory children’s are Above 18 years Membership is Mandatory.
Food & Supplies: Morning tea, breakfast, packed lunch, evening tea (in the camp), and dinner and after dinner tea/coffee/Bourn vita, shall be provided. Nutritious, vegetarian and good quality food shall be served at the camp. Please bring your own plates, mugs, spoons etc. Natural mineral spring water has been brought to the base camp from a nearby source. Washing of clothes is strictly prohibited.

* Accommodation Facilities: One room shall be given to each family. Mattresses, pillow and blankets shall be provided.  A well constructed pucca toilet-cum bathrooms block is available at the base camp.

* Safety & Security: YHAI Group Insurance cover is for accidental death or permanent disability only. You are advised to take personal insurance cover for your journey and other related matters. While every care has been taken to ensure safety, the Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseen eventualities.

* How to Reach:
By Bus: 
Route-1: from Srinagar 434km via Sonmarg, Zozila Pass & Kargil. J&K State Road Transport Corporation operates regular bus services between Srinagar and Leh on this route with overnight halt at Kargil.
Route-2: from Manali 474km via Keylong, Baralacha, Tanglangla & Upsi. Himachal Pradesh Tourism, HRTC and J&K SRTC operate daily Deluxe and ordinary bus services between Manali and Leh. The bus journey between Leh and Manali with an overnight halt at Keylong or Darcha.
By Air: Major Airlines operate daily flights from Delhi/Jammu/Srinagar.

By Train: The closest railway stations are Jammu, Pathankot or Chandigarh, both at least three days away by bus.
NOTE: There is no prepaid mobile service availability at Leh- Laddakh region, only postpaid services are functional.(Airtel,BSNL,Aircel Only)

* What participants should bring along: Woolens, cotton clothes, water bottles, plates, spoons, bowls, mug,  glass etc,  raincoat, cold cream/Vaseline, personal first aid kit, towel, Lunch box (for packed lunch) and medicines that you normally use at home.

* Notice to Participants:
1.  Deviation from the set schedule of the program is not permitted. If participants may wish to join any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk only after finishing the program and checking out.
2.  Staying other than YHAI Camp is not allowed for the entire duration of the camp.
3.  This is an environment friendly camp. Do no litter any wrappers in any way. In case you find any wrapper, plastic bag or anything left by trekkers on the way, please carry the same with you and dump in the dustbin at base camp.
4.  Burning of wood during camp fire is strictly prohibited. Carrying any Non bio - degradable Material in Himachal Pradesh is an offence.
5. Participants are requested to report on allotted slots only. Previous day Reporting not allowed.

* Special Casual leave:  No special casual leave is applicable for Family camping program.
